Every atom of our being is in constant flux. For me this is a reminder that life is a flowing dynamic process of recognizable patterns. Natural patterns like the rhythm of our four seasons. I like to visualize this idea through the metamorphosis of a tree.
I see a tree as a beautiful fractal. A branch is a scaled down version of the tree as a whole. Each year deciduous trees lose their leaves at maturity and new leaves are revived as the seasons pass. This new tree resembles its former self, the same essence and structure but in many ways has changed into a new adaptation.
My most recent work focuses on the nature of change by visually combining the movement of clouds with the evolution of a tree in an attempt to appreciate life’s constant, change.
